General Payment Terms
All payments made to Muse Events are non-refundable, as they cover date reservation, bespoke design work, planning time, administrative time, materials ordered and loss of earnings resulting from that date being reserved.
Design work, planning, ordering and preparation may begin before the final balance due date.
Late payment may result in delayed preparation, delayed installation times, suspension of works, or cancellation of the booking.
Any changes requested after booking may incur additional charges.
Postponements or amendments are subject to availability and may be subject to revised pricing in line with current rates.
5. Bespoke Design
Muse Events provides a bespoke service.
Exact replication is not something we offer. Inspiration images are used as a guide only, and all designs will be created in Muse Events’ own style and interpretation.
We reserve the right to make reasonable adjustments where necessary for:
-
structure
-
stability
-
safety
-
weather
-
venue restrictions
-
product availability
-
overall finish

If a particular material, flower, prop or decorative element becomes unavailable, we reserve the right to substitute it with the nearest suitable alternative.
All additional decorations, upgrades and extras are charged separately unless already included in your quote.
6. Cake Orders
Final design details should be confirmed by the deadline provided.
Changes requested after this stage may not be possible and may incur additional charges.
Cakes taller than a single tier, or cakes requiring structural support, must be set up on site by Muse Events. This service carries an additional fee unless otherwise included in your booking.
Once a cake has been collected by the client, or accepted at delivery or set up, responsibility passes to the client or venue.
Storage, transport and serving advice will be provided where relevant. Muse Events is not responsible for damage caused by failure to follow this guidance.
Any serving guide or portion estimate provided by Muse Events is based on standard portioning. Final portion numbers may vary depending on how the cake is cut and served.
7. Collections, Set Up & Fulfilment
Collections are by prior arrangement only.
A collection window may be given where relevant.
Late collections more than 15 minutes past the agreed time may be charged at £10 per hour or part thereof.
Set up and collection services are subject to availability and charged separately unless otherwise stated.
Clients must ensure that the venue is accessible and ready at the agreed installation time.
Delays caused by the venue, other suppliers or lack of access may result in reduced styling time, changes to the final setup or additional charges where extra attendance time is required.
Travel, parking, tolls, access-related costs and any additional attendance time may be charged separately where applicable, or as set out in your quote or invoice.
8. Postal Orders
Where postal orders are offered, items are dispatched using the agreed delivery service, usually Royal Mail Special Delivery.
Once dispatched, Muse Events is not responsible for courier delays, failed delivery attempts or delays caused by incorrect delivery information supplied by the client.
Any missing or delayed parcel must be disputed directly with Royal Mail. All packaging must be retained for any claim.
9. Prop, Signage & Display Hire
All props, plinths, stands, signage, backdrops, frames, draping, display equipment and hire items remain the property of Muse Events unless explicitly sold.
The client is responsible for hired items from the point of installation until collection.
Clients are liable for:
-
loss
-
theft
-
staining
-
weather damage
-
misuse
-
breakage or damage caused by guests, venue staff or third parties

Repair, cleaning or replacement charges are non-negotiable and must be paid within 7 days of invoice.
Props must not be moved, dismantled or repurposed without permission.
Personalised acrylic signage must be returned unless purchased. A charge of £50+ will apply if kept without prior agreement, depending on the item and its replacement value.
No separate hire form will be signed on installation. By confirming the booking, you accept all hire responsibilities outlined in these terms.
10. Balloons, Florals & Decorative Elements
Where balloons, fresh florals, artificial florals or decorative elements are included, slight variation in colour, finish or materials may occur due to supplier availability and seasonality.
Balloons are temporary decorative items and cannot be guaranteed against popping, oxidation, heat, cold or handling after installation, although this is rare and Muse Events takes appropriate safeguards to reduce the risk wherever possible.
Fresh florals are subject to seasonal availability. Where necessary, suitable substitutions may be made.
Any balloon or decorative elements left after the event may be removed, partially dismantled or left in place at our discretion depending on condition and logistics.
11. Outdoor Installations
Outdoor installations are offered at our discretion and are subject to suitable weather and site conditions.
For uncovered outdoor setups, the client accepts that wind, rain, heat, cold, damp ground and general weather conditions may affect the design, stability and lifespan of the installation.
Muse Events reserves the right to refuse, modify, relocate, reduce or remove any outdoor installation where conditions are unsafe or unsuitable.
No refund will be given for changes made due to weather, safety concerns or venue restrictions.
Clients remain responsible for any damage to hired items caused by weather after installation where the client has chosen to proceed.
12. Cancellations, Postponements & Amendments
If you cancel your booking, payments made to date will be retained to cover date reservation, bespoke design work, planning, administration, materials ordered and loss of earnings. Any additional costs already incurred or committed to in relation to the booked services will also be chargeable and remain payable by the client.
In limited circumstances, Muse Events may, at its sole discretion, agree to return a clearly identifiable set up or installation fee only, where no van booking, staffing allocation, travel cost or on-site attendance cost has yet been incurred.
Any such refund, credit or transfer is entirely discretionary and does not apply automatically.
Postponements are subject to availability and may be subject to revised pricing in line with our current rates.
13. Complaints & Order Issues
If you are unhappy with your order or installation, you must notify Muse Events as soon as possible and provide clear details and photographs.
For cakes, desserts and edible items, concerns must be raised within 24 hours.
Any cake or edible item reported as faulty, damaged or otherwise unsatisfactory must not be consumed and must be returned in full to Muse Events for inspection.
We may request photographs, a clear description of the issue, and return of the product before considering any refund, credit or other remedy.
For décor, styling and installations, concerns must be raised on the day and, where possible, within 3 hours of the agreed setup completion time.
We must be given a reasonable opportunity to review and, where appropriate, resolve the issue.
Failure to notify us within the stated timeframes may affect our ability to investigate and offer a remedy.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
14. Client Responsibilities
The client is responsible for ensuring that:
-
all booking details provided are accurate
-
the venue allows the items and services booked
-
access, permissions and parking arrangements are in place
-
setup areas are suitable, stable and clear
-
hired items are supervised and protected from damage

Any additional costs caused by inaccurate information, restricted access, delayed entry, parking issues or additional attendance time may be charged separately.
15. Force Majeure
Muse Events shall not be liable for delay or failure to perform its obligations where this is caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, road closures, accidents, illness, venue access issues, supplier failure, power outages or government restrictions.
Where possible, we will make reasonable efforts to offer an alternative arrangement or practical solution.
16. Photography & Promotion
Muse Events reserves the right to photograph cakes, products, setups and installations for use on our website, portfolio and social media.
If you require your booking to remain private, this must be agreed in writing before the event or collection date.
We always appreciate being tagged in any public posts featuring our work.
17. General
We reserve the right to decline or cancel a booking where abusive, threatening or inappropriate behaviour is directed towards us.
If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining sections shall continue to apply.
By paying the booking fee or otherwise confirming a booking, you confirm that you have read and agreed to these terms and conditions in full.
